Literature Text
I drive on the opposite side of the road.
Driving past oncoming traffic, hearing them honk and screeching their wheels across the street. I'm not afraid, but that's what scares me.
I drive down roads where I don't belong.
Seeing my old neighborhood where I remember all the street names and all the strangers have familiar faces. I tell myself that I don't care about these strangers, but that's a lie.
I drive off cliffs in my dreams.
Not because I want to die but because I want to feel alive again. I want to feel fear again. I want to take control of the wheel, but I think it was never there to begin with.
I drive alone.
Everyone who's asked for ride has already gotten off. Some said their goodbyes, some left a tip, but others left without a word.
I drive and I drive and I drive.
I want to get off this crazy ride, but then again, I don't.
